Parliament Meeting Adjourned Amidst Opposition Obstruction; Speaker Consults Party Whips

Kathmandu. After the obstruction by the opposition, the Speaker Dolprasad Aryal has started consultations by adjourning the House of Representatives meeting. The Speaker has started consultations with the chief whips and whips of the parties to reach an agreement to resume the session.

Opposition parties had obstructed the session demanding that the Prime Minister should be present in the House and answer the questions raised in the policy and program. As soon as the Speaker gave time to the Finance Minister to answer the policy and program instead of Prime Minister Balendra Shah, the MPs of the opposition parties stood up and protested.

As the MPs of the opposition parties did not stop protesting, the meeting was adjourned for 15 minutes and the Speaker engaged in consultations with the parties.
