MP Lima Adhikari Proposes Leveraging Sagarmatha's Serenity and Nepal's Peace for Economic Growth

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Lima Adhikari has proposed making the serenity of the world's highest peak Sagarmatha and Nepal's peace a strong basis for the country's economy.

Speaking during the zero hour of the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, MP Adhikari emphasized the need to give a new direction to the country's economy, which has been running on remittances for years.

MP Adhikari mentioned that Nepal's geographical and cultural diversity is attractive to people from any country in the world and demanded that the government create an environment for world experts to work from Nepal in this age of technology.

She stated that now, instead of just 'Working Nepal', we should call the world to 'Work from Nepal'. Her argument is that policy reforms are necessary to enable the sharp minds in the technology sector to work amidst the diversity of Nepal's mountains, hills, and plains.

Speaking in the house, she said, 'Should we make the peace of this earth and the serenity of Sagarmatha a strong basis for the economy? Or should we continue to live relying on remittances for years? Now we should not only 'Working Nepal' but invite the whole world to 'Work from Nepal'. In this age of technology, let's attract the sharp minds of the world by giving them digital nomad visas to work amidst the diversity of the Terai, Madhesh, and the Himalayas, enriched by our art, culture, and festivals.'

MP Adhikari suggested to the government to arrange for a 'digital nomad visa' to facilitate world technology experts to work from Nepal, as Nepal's art, culture, and natural beauty attract anyone in the world. She believes that such an arrangement will add a new dimension to the country's economy and can become a reliable source of foreign exchange earnings.
