Nepal Telecom Reports Significant Profit Increase in Q3 of FY 2082/83

Kathmandu. Nepal Telecom has significantly improved its net profit in the third quarter of the current fiscal year 2082/83. According to the company's unaudited financial statement, a net profit of Rs 6 Arba 27 Crore 29 Lakh has been earned by the end of Chaitra. This profit is Rs 56 Crore 24 Lakh, or 9.85 percent, higher than the same period last fiscal year. In the same period last year, the company had earned a net profit of Rs 5 Arba 71 Crore 5 Lakh. The company's operating income has also seen an increase. By the end of the third quarter of the current fiscal year, Telecom has earned an operating income of Rs 25 Arba 92 Crore 96 Lakh. This is Rs 61 Crore 20 Lakh more than last year. The company's total income has reached Rs 28 Arba 85 Crore 48 Lakh. Along with profit, the company's earnings per share have also improved. Earnings per share, which was Rs 42.30 last year, has increased by 9.9 percent to Rs 46.47. Similarly, profit before interest, tax, and depreciation stood at Rs 14 Arba 38 Crore 2 Lakh. According to the financial statement, there are some main reasons for the change in revenue and profit. Due to the continuous decrease in interest rates of banks, the interest income received by the company has decreased by 20.57 percent, or approximately Rs 57 Crore 66 Lakh. However, the income has been balanced due to a 2.76 percent increase in revenue from GSM services in operating income. Income from GSM services has increased by Rs 57 Crore 74 Lakh. In addition, a decrease of 8.46 percent, or Rs 38 Crore 69 Lakh, in depreciation expenses has had a positive impact on net profit, the company stated.
