Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel States Student Organizations Abolished as Per Election Manifesto

Kathmandu. Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel has stated that student organizations have been abolished in accordance with their election manifesto.

Speaking to journalists at Singha Durbar today, Nepal government spokesperson Pokharel clarified that there is no need for further debate on not keeping student organizations as their manifesto was discussed during the elections and the manifesto has already been approved by the public.

'Local levels should be active in taking action against those charging excessive fees.' Mentioning that complaints have been received about schools charging more than the prescribed admission or annual fees, he stated that a discussion was held on this matter with officials from the Municipal Association, Rural Municipalities Federation, and representatives of the Kathmandu Valley Mayors' Forum.

"If the federal government's help is needed for the implementation of the prescribed standards and rules, we are ready, but this is fundamentally a matter of local level responsibility. The regulatory bodies must work from their side," said Minister Pokharel.
