Real Madrid Midfielder Valverde Hospitalized After Dressing Room Altercation

Madrid. Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde has been admitted to the hospital with a head injury after a fight between him and Aurélien Tchouaméni in the dressing room.

This incident occurred on Thursday morning, just three days before the important 'El Clásico' against Barcelona on Sunday. Due to the head injury, Valverde is certain to miss the game against Barcelona.

Valverde has admitted to going to the hospital but has denied any physical altercation with Tchouaméni. He stated that in a fit of anger and during an argument, he accidentally hit his head on a table and had to go to the hospital for examination after sustaining a small injury to his forehead.

However, the club confirmed that he has suffered a 'concussion', a serious head injury, and will need to rest for 10 to 14 days. Real Madrid has initiated disciplinary proceedings against both players regarding this incident.

In a statement released on Instagram, Valverde wrote, 'My teammate never hit me, nor did I hit him, although it might be easier for people to believe we had a fight, but that is not the case.'

He also apologized, stating that the argument with his teammate arose due to the frustration and anger of seeing the team struggling towards the end of the season. He added, 'This situation makes me sad. I think someone is spreading rumors here, and with a season without a title, everything is being exaggerated.'

News of a fight between these two players also surfaced on Wednesday. Real Madrid staff have described this incident as the most serious event to date at the club's training center, 'Valdebebas'. Following the incident, an emergency meeting was held between club president Florentino Pérez, coach Álvaro Arbeloa, and captain Dani Carvajal.

Real's season has been very disappointing. Trailing Barcelona by 11 points in La Liga, Real has also been eliminated from the Champions League. If they fail to win on Sunday, Barcelona will defend the league title with three games remaining. The dispute within the dressing room at such a sensitive time has further plunged the club into crisis.
