Nepali Film Industry Active with Multiple Projects in Production and Pre-Production

Kathmandu. The Nepali film industry is currently vibrant. Film announcements, auspicious timings, and other activities are happening daily. Filming is taking place from the historic alleys of Kathmandu to the remote hills of Myagdi and the plains of the Terai.

The shooting of the film 'Panch Pandav', directed by Basanta Niroula, has been regularly taking place in Harisiddhi, Lalitpur for the past few days. In this film, Haribans Acharya, Jitu Nepal, Aryan Sigdel, Mahesh Tripathi, Sushil Shitala will be seen in the role of 'Panch Pandav'. The film also features actors like Deepashree Niroula, Sarita Giri, Binod Neupane, Rama Thapaliya, Prashant Tamrakar, and Eva Giri.

The shooting of the film is expected to continue for another 10 days. Director Niroula said that the climax of the film is being shot. The shooting of the film, which will be produced under the banner of Kalirhani Films, started from Kakadvitta, a border city between Nepal and India, on March 2. The writer of the film is Sushil Poudel. The presenter of the film is Naveen Shrestha and the producer is Kali Rani Shrestha.

Not only 'Panch Pandav', but also about half a dozen films including 'Sarathi', 'Juba', 'Muktipur' are currently on the floor. Many of these have just started shooting, while some are in the final stages of shooting.

The film 'Sarathi', directed by Kumar Gajurel, is currently being shot in various scenic locations of Myagdi. The shooting of this film started on April 9 with a grand auspicious timing at the Bhadrakali Temple in Kathmandu. Producer Tara Thapa 'Kimve' said that the shooting is ongoing.

This film by 'Kimve', who is also a senior editor, is being produced in collaboration with Kimve Production and Dhiraj Infinity Films. Uttam Pradhan and Niruta Singh will be paired in the film. After nearly two decades, this pair will be seen together on screen again. Besides Uttam and Niruta, the film will feature actors like Mukund Shrestha, Samranta Thapa, Giri Bishwakarma, Gayatri Joshi, Madan Thapa, Milan Khadka, Rashmi Gurung, Tulsi Rai, Asha Bishwakarma.

The shooting of the film 'Juba', directed by Prakash Karna, is also currently underway in various locations in Sarlahi. After shooting in Sarlahi for a few days after starting shooting with an auspicious timing in Kathmandu, the production team has stated that it will be shot in Rajasthan, India. The film, which has started shooting with a 75-day schedule, will feature Saugat Malla in the lead role. Actress Sophie Dharel is debuting in the film.

The film 'Muktipur' is also currently on the floor. The film is being shot in Nepalgunj and its director is Sunil Pandey. The film, being produced jointly by Saiba Film's Production and Everest Film Academy, has producers Vijay Rajbanshi and Roshan Paswan. The film, which will be a crime genre, will present a story of revenge. Nazir Hussain, Gaurav Pahari, Prakash Shah, Evanraj Upreti, and Akriti Budhathoki are acting in the film.

The shooting of the film 'Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2' will not start from Wednesday. The film, which had its auspicious timing at the Ganesh Temple in Suryavinayak, Bhaktapur on Monday, was supposed to start shooting. Director Dipendra Lama said that the shooting was delayed due to the weather.

The film, which will be produced by the Deepak-Deepa group, considered the most successful in Nepali film production, will feature Deepak Raj Giri, Keki Adhikari, and Sanisha Bhattarai. Rohit Adhikari, producer of 'Farki Farki', is producing this film in collaboration with Deepak-Deepa group's company Aama Saraswati Movies. Their collaboration previously resulted in the film 'Chha Maya Chhapakkai', released in 2019.

The film will start shooting in Kathmandu and will also be shot in Nuwakot and Pokhara. The film is scheduled to be released next Dashain.

Many films are also in preparation for shooting

Film production has increased recently. While more than half a dozen films are on the floor, about a dozen films are in preparation for shooting. The film 'Aba Aama 2', to be directed by Chandra Pant, is also in preparation for shooting. The auspicious timing for the film, which is being made as a sequel to the hit film 'Aba Aama', was held at the Bangalamukhi Temple in Lalitpur on Monday. The film will feature Vipana Thapa, Paul Shah, famous Indian villain Pradeep Rawat, Gajit Bisht, and Akash Shrestha. The film is being made under the banner of Arya Entertainment.

The film 'Timi mero Ma Timro' is in preparation for the floor. The film, to be directed by Ghanshyam Lamichhane, was announced with a program in the capital a few days ago. The film, to be made under the banner of Santosh Adhikari Films, will feature Bhuwan KC, Jitu Nepal, Santosh Adhikari, and new actress Pratima Thapa in the lead roles. Director Lamichhane said that the film will quench the thirst for pure love stories that are disappearing among Nepali audiences. Narendra Mainali will shoot this film, which is being made in collaboration with Asp Entertainment Australia.

Similarly, actress and producer Keki Adhikari, who achieved historic success with 'Boksi Ko Ghar' at the beginning of the year 2081, recently held an auspicious timing for her new project 'Station'. The film, to be directed by Sulakshan Bharti of 'Boksi Ko Ghar', is in preparation for the floor. The film, said to be based on a social drama, will be released on August 19.

The film 'Akshara', to be directed by Binayraj Poudel, also had its script puja and auspicious timing at the Guheshwori Temple a few days ago. The film, which will feature Sushil Shitala and Nancy Khadka in the lead roles, is being made with a social and family story. The film is in preparation for the floor.

'Maharajdhiraj' is also in preparation for the floor. The film, which had its auspicious timing at the Bangalamukhi Temple on Tuesday morning, will feature Pushpa Khadka, Pooja Sharma, Usha Rajak, Aryan Sigdel, Ramesh Upreti, Pushpa Khadka, Pooja Sharma, Keki Adhikari, Usha Rajak, Gajit Bisht, Jaykishan Basnet, and 80 other artists.
