CPN UML Decides to Digitize Membership Management System

Kathmandu. CPN UML has decided to take the membership management completely into a digital system with the objective of making the party's organization modern and technology-friendly.

On Sunday, at a special meeting held at the central office, the organization department exhibited the digital system related to membership management and informed that the entire process of new membership distribution and renewal will now be done online.

The discussion, attended by top leaders including the party's vice-chairman, general secretary, and representatives of people's organizations, has set a roadmap to make CPN UML's future organizational structure more transparent and organized through technology.

Addressing the meeting, party vice-chairman Bishnu Poudel said that the online membership renewal campaign will prove to be a milestone in making party life disciplined and effective. He mentioned that this system is essential to make the records of every member of the party clear and transparent.

Organization Department's coordinator and central secretary Bhanubhakta Dhakal informed that the records from the center to the ward level will be integrated into a unified digital system. After the implementation of this system, the details of members from all seven provinces, 77 districts, and all 753 local units of CPN UML can be viewed with a single click.

According to the new action plan prepared by the organization department, the personal details (biodata) of leaders and cadres of all levels of CPN UML will also be collected and archived online. Earlier, a meeting of provincial presidents held in the presence of the general secretary had already put forward a proposal to set the deadline for membership renewal by the end of Jestha.

Due to the membership system being directly linked with the regular work and responsibilities of the party, special importance has been given to digital renewal this time.

According to the organization department's coordinator Dhakal, members who do not renew their membership online within the stipulated time will automatically be relieved of their responsibilities in the respective party committees. In other words, a new system has been developed in such a way that if the membership is not updated on time, their position and responsibility will be automatically canceled, no matter how influential the leader is.

This is believed to end the problem of fake memberships and chaotic records within the party forever.
