Nazir Hussain and Surakshya Panta Awarded Best Actors at Nepal Rural Film Festival

Kathmandu. Nazir Hussain and Surakshya Panta have been declared best. At the 'Fifth Nepal Rural Film Festival 2083', Hussain won the Best Actor award for the film 'Gunyucholo' while Panta won the Best Actress award for 'Koshedunga'.

The festival, organized by Celebrity Nepal in collaboration with the Film Development Board and Chandranagar Rural Municipality, concluded on Thursday evening in Sarlahi. 17 films were screened at the festival, where tableaux were presented with traditional attire of various ethnic groups.

In the festival, which focused on the stories and tourism of Madhesh, awards were given for Best Film 'Mohar', Best Director 'Om Pratik Gurung (Mohar)', Best Screenplay Samundra Bhatta/Nazir Hussain (Gunyucholo), Jury Award Director Milan Tamang (Maitighar), Encouragement Award Manzil Kumar (Koshedunga), Best Editor Nahakul Khadka (Koshedunga), Best Cinematographer Babu Shrestha (Koshedunga), Best Indigenous Film Nakchhong Director Kiran Rai, Best Short Film Nilo Akash Director Nirmal Poudel, among others.

Film Development Board Chairman Dinesh DC, Chandranagar Rural Municipality Chairman Rajkumar Mahato, Film Producer Chhabiraj Ojha, Hariban Municipality Mayor Kamal Budhathoki, among others, participated in the program. Organizer Celebrity Nepal Chairman Raghunath Sapkota said that the award festival was organized with the aim of promoting films made on rural themes.
