President Paudel Consults Constitutional Experts Amid Ordinance Controversy

Kathmandu. Following the government's recommendation of ordinances while the parliament is adjourned, President Ram Chandra Paudel is scheduled to consult with constitutional experts today. The Presidential Secretariat informed that although discussions are planned for this afternoon, the exact time has not yet been confirmed.

The government had recommended ordinances to amend the 'Act Relating to the Functions, Duties and Powers of the Constitutional Council, 2066' and the 'Cooperative Act, 2074' on April 14, and on April 15, it recommended ordinances related to the Health Professional Education Academy, an ordinance to amend some Nepal laws, and ordinances related to universities.

There is widespread criticism regarding the introduction of ordinances while the parliamentary session is adjourned. Opposition parties have demanded that the President not issue these ordinances.
