CPN-UML VP Poudel Criticizes Government for Undermining Democratic Values and Constitutional Guidance

Kathmandu. CPN-UML Vice Chairman Bishnu Prasad Poudel has stated that the current government's activities are against democratic values and constitutional guidance. Expressing serious concern over the government's recent actions, which have caused public disappointment, he mentioned that UML is gravely concerned.

While addressing the 27th Yadu Memorial Day and 24th Yadu Memorial Journalism Award ceremony on Wednesday, Vice Chairman Poudel accused the government of attacking trade union rights and students' right to organize. He argued that the government has ignored public interest issues and shown extreme negligence towards people's problems. He emphasized that the constitution and democratic values, the two pillars of governance, should not be forgotten.

He also objected to the 'ordinance series' that has begun, citing that the government has recently been trying to rule through ordinances, bypassing parliament.
