Demolition of Illegal Structures Begins Along Manohara Riverbank

Kathmandu. The demolition of illegal structures and squatter settlements along the banks of the Manohara River in Bhaktapur has commenced. 

The clearance operation resumed from the same location where stone-pelting occurred yesterday. On Saturday evening, local residents had pelted stones at the bulldozer that arrived to clear the settlement.

The team, accompanied by bulldozers, reached the riverbank in Manohara in the evening after clearing the squatter settlement in Gairigaun.  Photo: Nepal Photo Library
