Shuklaphanta Reserve victims stage semi-nude protest in Kanchanpur

Kanchanpur. The Shuklaphanta Reserve Victims District Struggle Committee staged a semi-nude protest in front of the main gate of the District Administration Office, Kanchanpur, on Wednesday, presenting a 5-point list of demands. Victims, who have been waiting for rehabilitation for the past 24 years, protested by removing their upper garments to express their frustration over the government's neglect of their grievances.

The protesters have put forward key demands, including the provision of at least 10 kattha of land for each family and compensation for the last 24 years.

The struggle committee has also demanded that they be declared 'conflict victims,' that a separate ward be established for the identification of reserve victims, and that the state guarantee free access to basic necessities such as education and healthcare.

Furthermore, the victims warned that they would not halt their movement until their demands are met, citing the severe hardship they have faced due to the prolonged lack of adequate compensation and land.
