Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Penalize Over 3,500 Drivers in 24 Hours

Kathmandu. The traffic police have penalized 3,501 drivers in the Kathmandu Valley over the last 24 hours.

According to the spokesperson for the Valley Traffic Police Office and Superintendent of Police Nareshraj Subedi, the penalties include 77 cases for driving under the influence (MaPaSe), 69 for vehicles in poor condition, 158 for running red lights, 89 for speeding, 172 for lane violations, 57 for driving with doors open, 77 for 'No Horn' violations, 55 for improper boarding/alighting, and 2,747 for other offenses, totaling 3,501 drivers penalized.

He stated, “The total number of drivers penalized for various traffic violations in the last 24 hours is 3,501. The total revenue collected from these fines amounts to Rs 2,515,501.”
