Rastriya Swatantra Party Central Committee Meeting Commences to Discuss Key Organizational Agenda

Kathmandu. The central committee meeting of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has commenced to discuss a 9-point agenda, including the ratification of decisions made by the secretariat. The meeting began at the party's central office in Banasthali on Monday at 4:15 PM.

The primary agenda of the meeting includes the nomination of central committee office-bearers and discussions on the draft of the general convention procedures. Additionally, Deputy General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya stated that the meeting will deliberate on necessary amendments to the party statute. However, Acharya noted that despite the pre-set agenda, the meeting will also address the recent revelations regarding the business (share) investment of party lawmaker and Home Minister Sudhan Gurung with businessman Deepak Bhatta.

'Once questions are raised, the party must provide answers. Whether the reports regarding the Home Minister's connections are true or not will be discussed in the central committee meeting,' he said.

According to Acharya, the meeting will focus primarily on organizational strengthening, preparations for the upcoming general convention, and policy reforms. The secretariat meeting held on Sunday had made decisions including setting dates for district conventions, assigning responsibilities to proportional representation lawmakers, and appointing secretariat member Deepak Bohara as the head of the party's diaspora department.
