Nepal Airlines Plans Direct Flights to Dhaka

Kathmandu. Nepal Airlines Corporation is preparing to launch direct flights from Kathmandu to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, in the near future.

The corporation has initiated necessary preparations and has formed a feasibility study subcommittee to carry out the required work. Despite being a neighboring country, the Nepali flag carrier has not yet been able to operate flights to Dhaka. Subash Rijal, Director of the Operations Department and Senior Captain, stated that the process has been moved forward keeping this necessity in mind.

Currently, regular flights are being operated from Bangladesh to Kathmandu. Nepal's private sector carrier, Himalaya Airlines, also operates flights to Dhaka. However, the national flag carrier has not yet commenced its services. The corporation stated that the flight schedule will be determined based on the report provided by the study committee.

Similarly, the corporation has further expanded its Kathmandu-Delhi-Kathmandu flight services. Since Chaitra 17, the corporation has added three more flights per week on this route. Following the new arrangement, there are now 10 flights per week between Kathmandu and Delhi.

A Cargo Management System Study Taskforce has also been formed to make the cargo business more robust and productive.
