Nepal Government to Implement Semi-Monthly Salary Payments for Civil Servants

Kathmandu. The government has decided to provide salary and allowances to civil servants on a semi-monthly basis moving forward.

The Ministry of Finance wrote a letter to the Office of the Comptroller General last Friday to inform them of this change. Previously, salary and allowance benefits for government employees were provided on a monthly basis after the completion of the month.

It is understood that this arrangement has been made for the convenience of the employees.

Joint Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Suman Dahal, stated that the new system was implemented following a ministerial-level decision by the Finance Minister to initiate the semi-monthly payment practice.
