Nepali Congress President Thapa Meets Former Acting President Khadka Amid Internal Tensions

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has held a meeting with the outgoing acting president, Purna Bahadur Khadka.

General Secretary Pradip Paudel confirmed that President Thapa visited Khadka's residence in Golfutar to meet with him.

The Supreme Court only resolved the dispute regarding the official status of the Nepali Congress on Friday. Following this, a meeting of the office-bearers elected from the 14th General Convention was held on Saturday under Khadka's chairmanship, followed by a meeting of central members on Sunday.

The meeting concluded that the responsibility of the party now rests on the shoulders of Thapa, who became president through the special general convention held last Poush.

Discussions regarding the potential formation of a separate party if they do not receive a respectful position were raised during the meeting led by Khadka. Immediately after that meeting, the president went to his residence to meet Khadka. Both Khadka's secretariat and Thapa's secretariat have confirmed that the meeting between Khadka and Thapa took place.
