Nepali Congress leader Balayar challenges party leadership over disciplinary action

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress Sudurpashchim Province President Bir Bahadur Balayar has challenged the party leadership to take disciplinary action against outgoing Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka over allegations of letterhead misuse if they have the courage.

Speaking at a gathering of the Sher Bahadur Deuba faction in Maharajgunj on Sunday, Balayar said, 'If you have the courage, show it by taking action against Purna Bahadur Khadka within 24 hours for the letterhead misuse scandal. Be prepared to face the consequences that follow such action.'

Balayar asserted that the leaders present at the Maharajgunj meeting have contributed more to the party's history, struggles, and sacrifices than those currently holding positions at the Sanepa party office. 'There is nothing back in Sanepa; everything is right here,' Balayar stated.

Claiming that they have the strength to exhaust and wear down those sitting in Sanepa, Balayar expressed readiness to preserve the history of the Congress if the leaders show a broad heart and provide them with the opportunity to lead.

Balayar further alleged that wherever Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma campaigned during the House of Representatives elections, the party candidates lost their deposits.

Balayar accused Sharma of not contesting the election himself while causing others to fail. He also remarked that Gagan Thapa's voice has been silenced following his own defeat in the election.
