Gold and Silver Prices Surge Over the Past Week

Kathmandu. The prices of both gold and silver have increased over the past week. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, significant fluctuations were observed in the prices of both precious metals between Chaitra 27 and Baishakh 4. 

On the previous Friday, Chaitra 27, gold was traded at 296,900 rupees per tola. Subsequently, the price rose slightly to 297,100 rupees on Chaitra 29, before dipping to 296,700 rupees on Chaitra 30.

 With the start of the New Year 2083, the price of gold began to climb further from Baishakh 1, reaching 299,800 rupees per tola.

 The price reached 302,700 rupees on Baishakh 2 and hit a weekly high of 302,800 rupees on Baishakh 3. On the final day of the week, Friday, Baishakh 4, the price saw a slight decline, trading at 299,800 rupees per tola. Thus, compared to the previous Friday, the price of gold has increased by 2,900 rupees per tola.

Similarly, the price of silver has also seen sharp fluctuations this week. On the previous Friday, Chaitra 27, silver was traded at 4,960 rupees per tola. The price rose to 4,975 rupees on Chaitra 29, before falling to a low of 4,900 rupees on Chaitra 30.

 From Baishakh 1, the price of silver surged to 5,065 rupees per tola, reaching 5,220 rupees on Baishakh 2, and hitting a weekly high of 5,250 rupees on Baishakh 3. On the final day of the week, Friday, Baishakh 4, silver was traded at 5,130 rupees per tola.

 Overall, compared to the previous Friday, the price of silver has become 170 rupees more expensive per tola.
