Chinese Embassy in Nepal Launches Youth Pioneer Program to Empower Local Talent

Kathmandu. The Chinese Embassy in Nepal has launched the 'Chinese Embassy Youth Pioneer Program' with the objective of empowering Nepali youth in the fields of leadership, social service, and professional development.

The embassy stated that the program aims to build an influential youth network capable of bringing positive change to Nepal's social development by equipping the younger generation with various skills. The one-year program specifically targets young professionals, social workers, entrepreneurs, cultural experts, and active individuals aged between 22 and 34.

During this period, participants will have the opportunity to directly engage in various leadership development training sessions, workshops, and community programs.

According to the embassy, participants will select a social issue based on their interests and expertise, develop an action plan, and play an active role in implementing it.

Another significant aspect of the program is the opportunity for top-performing participants to visit China. Selected youth will have the chance to study and experience China's development practices firsthand. Interested candidates are invited to apply by May 17, 2026.

After a rigorous evaluation of the applications, only 10 to 20 qualified individuals who meet the program's criteria will be selected for the final cohort.

It is believed that this initiative will further help youth expand their professional networks. Through this effort, the Chinese Embassy expects to strengthen cultural ties between Nepal and China and initiate a new chapter of mutual understanding and cooperation through the youth.
