One dead, four injured in motorcycle collision in Baitadi

Dhangadhi. One person has died and four others were injured after two motorcycles collided in Baitadi. The accident occurred on Friday afternoon at approximately 1:30 PM on the Dholyamod-Purchaudi road section in Surnaya Rural Municipality-8.

According to Police Inspector Suraj Singh, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Baitadi, the motorcycles involved were a Sudurpashchim Province 01-013-P-4246, traveling from Shribhawar towards Purchaudi, and a Se 5 P 4717, coming from the opposite direction.

The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Janak Luhar of Surnaya-8, who was the rider of one of the motorcycles, Police Inspector Singh confirmed.

Police stated that the injured include 24-year-old Amir Kadayat and 39-year-old Hikmat Kunwar from Purchaudi-5, as well as 35-year-old Jay Bahadur Chand and 36-year-old Keshav Bahadur Chand from Sigas Rural Municipality-9.

Given their condition, Amir and Hikmat have been sent to Dadeldhura Hospital for further treatment. According to police, Amir is in moderate condition, while the others have sustained minor injuries.

Police have stated that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
