Partial influence of westerly and local winds brings weather changes across Nepal

Kathmandu. The weather in Nepal is currently experiencing changes due to the partial influence of westerly and local winds. 

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the country's mountainous regions are generally cloudy, while the hilly areas have partial cloud cover. The weather in the Terai districts remains mainly clear. Light rain and snowfall are currently occurring in limited areas of the hilly regions of Koshi Province.

Regarding today's weather on Thursday, the hilly terrain of Koshi Province and the mountainous regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces are expected to remain generally cloudy. Other hilly and mountainous regions will see partial cloud cover. The Terai region is expected to remain sunny and clear.

The department has forecasted that light rain and snowfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, may occur in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province. Similarly, there is a possibility of light snowfall in one or two places in the mountainous regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. 

While the weather in the Terai remains stable, the pattern of cloudiness and light rain is expected to continue for some time in the hilly and mountainous regions.
