RPP Lawmaker Khushbu Oli Raises Concerns Over Impractical Grade 12 Exam Center Assignments

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Khushbu Oli has drawn the government's attention to the hardships students are facing due to the designated exam centers for the upcoming Grade 12 final examinations.

In a video released on Facebook on Wednesday, she stated that students in remote areas, including Jajarkot, are facing significant challenges due to the disorganized selection of examination centers.

According to Oli, students from Shree Tribhuvan Secondary School in Jajarkot previously took their exams at their own school or at the Bheri Gyanodaya Campus in the district headquarters. However, for the exams beginning on Baisakh 14, the center has been relocated to Shree Dipendra Secondary School in Kalabhura, which is approximately 30 kilometers away from the headquarters.

Lawmaker Oli noted that the 30-kilometer distance, difficult geographical terrain, and lack of transportation facilities will cause immense difficulty for students. Furthermore, she pointed out that due to the lack of sufficient settlements around the newly designated exam center, it will be extremely difficult for students to arrange accommodation and food while taking their exams.

She informed that the school management committee and parents have also expressed concern that such a decision could lead to students missing their exams entirely.

Oli stated that she had registered a memorandum with the Ministry of Education on Chaitra 23 and had met with Education Minister Sumana Shrestha and the ministry secretary to draw their attention to the matter. She expressed frustration that despite receiving assurances from the minister and the secretary, no concrete decision has been made even as the exams approach.

Lawmaker Oli emphasized that this is not just a problem for one school in Jajarkot, but a common issue for many exam centers in remote areas across the country. She has urged the Ministry of Education and relevant authorities to prioritize geographical accessibility, transportation facilities, and student safety when designating examination centers.
