India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka Secure Wins at ITF Asia 12 & Under Tennis Competition

Kathmandu. India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka achieved success on Tuesday at the ongoing ITF Asia 12 & Under Tennis Competition (South Asian Regional Qualifying) in Kathmandu. In the matches held at the tennis courts in Satdobato, India made a strong start to the tournament by securing impressive victories in both the boys' and girls' categories.

In the boys' Group 'A' match, India defeated Bhutan in straight sets, 3-0. Similarly, in the girls' category, India secured a 3-0 victory over the Maldives. For Bhutan and the Maldives, this marks their second consecutive defeat. In matches held on Monday, Sri Lanka had defeated both Bhutan and the Maldives.

Meanwhile, in boys' Group 'B', Pakistan earned crucial points by defeating the Maldives 3-0. Nepal had defeated the Maldives on the first day of the tournament, making the competition in this group interesting. In another girls' match, Sri Lanka registered their second consecutive win by defeating Pakistan 3-0, marking Pakistan's second straight loss. On the first day of the tournament, Nepal had secured an exciting victory over Pakistan.

Organized by the All Nepal Lawn Tennis Association, the tournament features six South Asian nations, excluding Bangladesh. The top two teams in both the boys' and girls' categories will qualify for the Asian finals to be held in Singapore from September 15 to 20.
