Bagmati Sweets production halted following inspection in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. Following the directives of Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development and Minister for Forests and Environment, Geeta Chaudhary, the production and distribution of Bagmati Sweets Pvt. Ltd., located in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-11, have been halted after an inspection.

On Chaitra 29, snacks were provided by the company at a public event. After complaints were received regarding the presence of inedible items in the food, Minister Chaudhary immediately directed the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control to conduct an inspection.

In accordance with the directive, a joint team from the department and the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, conducted an inspection on Chaitra 30. Citing serious lapses in hygiene and quality standards, the team halted production and initiated legal action in accordance with prevailing laws.

Meanwhile, Minister Chaudhary stated that the government is serious about public food safety and clarified that strict action will be taken if any complaints are received.
