Minister Sobita Gautam Discloses Assets

Kathmandu. The asset details of Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam have been made public. According to the details submitted to the Prime Minister's Office on Chait 23, she possesses approximately 15 tolas of gold, vehicles worth 12.375 million rupees, cash deposits in various banks, company shares, and ancestral land and property. Minister Gautam is serving her second term as a Member of Parliament and her first term as a Minister.

Minister Gautam has mentioned owning 677 square meters of land in Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Chitwan. The details state that this land is ancestral property registered in the name of her parents-in-law.

Her cash holdings across various bank accounts include 368,000 rupees in NIC Asia Bank, 46,800 rupees in Rastriya Banijya Bank, 481,000 rupees in Nabil Bank, 144,000 rupees in Machhapuchhre Bank, and 8,200 rupees in Global IME Bank.

Minister Gautam reported a total of 15 tolas of gold, consisting of 10 tolas received during her wedding and 5 tolas of ancestral gold. Additionally, 9 tolas of silver and 1 tola of diamond received at her wedding are listed in the asset disclosure.

Regarding shares, she holds a 50 percent stake in Global Himal Truck and Trades, which is stated to be inherited property. Furthermore, she holds 6,500 shares in Sopan Multiple Company, which were acquired through her salary.

For vehicle purchases, she noted the repayment of a 700,000 rupee loan from Rastriya Banijya Bank and a 2.5 million rupee loan taken from Everest Bank. Regarding vehicles, Minister Gautam owns a car worth 2.6 million rupees.

Similarly, her husband, Grihendra Ghimire, owns a car worth 9.5 million rupees, which was purchased through loans and salary. A scooter worth 275,000 rupees has also been disclosed.
