Health Ministry to Conduct On-Site Inspection of National Medical College and Madhesh Province Hospitals

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Health and Population is set to conduct on-site monitoring regarding complaints filed against the National Medical College in Birgunj and the service delivery of various hospitals in Madhesh Province.

The Ministry's Quality Measurement and Regulation Division has formed and deployed a team for monitoring in accordance with the ministerial-level decision made on Chaitra 27.

The monitoring team includes Dr. Phanindra Prasad Baral from the Curative Service Division and Medical Lab Technologist Rajkumar Pandey from the Quality Measurement and Regulation Division. The team will investigate the facts regarding complaints against the National Medical College and will also inspect Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital and Narayani Hospital.

Additionally, in coordination with the Ministry of Health of Madhesh Province, provincial-level hospitals in areas including Janakpur and Mahottari will also be monitored.

Specifically, the team will conduct on-site inspections using an attached checklist to verify whether hospitals are providing services in accordance with the recently issued 'Hospital Service Improvement Procedure, 2082' and whether they have met the prescribed standards.

The monitoring team has been instructed to complete its work and submit a report to the Ministry within 7 days.
