RSP Lawmakers Emphasize Private Sector Growth for Economic Prosperity

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Manish Jha has stated that the country's economy can only be strengthened by bolstering private sector capital and entrepreneurship. Addressing the third national convention of the National Enterprise Development Facilitators Federation Nepal in the capital on Saturday, Jha emphasized that the economy cannot be robust without the development of the private sector.

Lawmaker Jha noted that while government and development economies contribute to stability, it is the growth of the private sector that drives the national economy. Citing 2026 data, Jha highlighted that the private sector economy in the United States is valued at 46.5 quadrillion, while in China, it stands at 30 quadrillion. He stressed that given the significant growth of the private sector in neighboring countries, it is essential for Nepal to prioritize similar growth.

Jha stated, “Every country has a three-tiered economy: private, government, and development. Unless the private sector economy is strong, the country cannot be strong. We must strengthen private sector capital to move forward.”

He added, “Development and government capital are only for stability. Private capital represents growth. Therefore, we must focus on growth. The existence, capacity, and organizational practices of the private sector are crucial for us.”

At the event, RSP lawmaker Sushant Baidik mentioned that the new government's 100-day action plan gives significant importance to entrepreneurship. According to him, the RSP-led government has ensured that entrepreneurship is thoroughly integrated into its 100-day agenda.

Baidik stated that small and micro-enterprises, as well as startups in rural areas, play a major role in achieving economic transformation and economic progress with social justice.

Noting the RSP's commitment to simplifying business registration and renewal in its 100-day agenda, lawmaker Baidik clarified that bureaucratic processes will no longer hinder the dreams of aspiring entrepreneurs.

Lawmaker and economist Baidik said, “The new government has not overlooked entrepreneurship in its 100-day priorities. We are clear that small, micro-enterprises, and startups across the country play the biggest role in economic transformation.”

He further added, “The RSP has committed to facilitating business registration and renewal. We are trying to simplify paperwork so that businesses do not get stuck in bureaucratic processes, whether at the local, provincial, or company office level. Paperwork will no longer reject the dream of becoming an entrepreneur.”

He stated that the results of the government's work will be visible starting next week. Participants at the program emphasized the need to establish the private sector and entrepreneurship as the main engine of the national economy.
