Senior Advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Kamal Kharrazi Dies Following Attack

Tehran. Kamal Kharrazi, a senior advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has passed away. He died following injuries sustained in an attack earlier this month.

According to Iranian state media, Kharrazi died on Thursday after being wounded in an attack targeting his home by what officials described as the American-Zionist enemy. Iran has consistently linked the attack to the United States and Israel.

Kharrazi's wife was killed instantly in the attack, while he sustained critical injuries. He was immediately hospitalized, but his condition reportedly deteriorated during medical treatment. 

Meanwhile, in a special interview with CNN's Frederik Pleitgen a few weeks ago, Kharrazi expressed his belief that Iran could sustain a long-term war. He claimed that the possibility of a diplomatic solution was low and asserted that the war would ultimately end due to economic pressure.
