Government Sets Toll Fees for Nagdhunga Tunnel Route

Kathmandu. The government has finalized the toll fees for vehicles using the Nagdhunga Tunnel. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport published a notice in the Nepal Gazette on Thursday, establishing fees based on vehicle classification.

According to the published notice, vehicles entering the Kathmandu Valley are subject to higher fees than those exiting. The government implemented these charges exercising the authority granted by sub-section (1) of section 6 of the Road Board Act, 2058, in accordance with a Cabinet decision.

What are the fees for each vehicle category?

The Ministry has categorized vehicles into four classes for fee determination.

The first category includes cars, vans, pickups, tractors, microbuses, and other light vehicles. These vehicles will be charged 65 rupees to enter Kathmandu and 60 rupees to exit.

The second category consists of minibuses and mini-tippers/trucks. These vehicles must pay 115 rupees to enter Kathmandu and 80 rupees to exit.

The third category includes single rear-axle buses and trucks. These vehicles are subject to a fee of 260 rupees to enter Kathmandu and 200 rupees to exit.

The fourth category comprises multi-axle trucks and heavy equipment. These vehicles must pay 600 rupees to enter Kathmandu and 250 rupees to exit.
