Government Initiates Amendment Process for Public Procurement Act, 2063

Kathmandu. The government has initiated the amendment process to update the Public Procurement Act, 2063. The Public Procurement Monitoring Office under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has prepared a preliminary draft of the 'Bill to Amend the Public Procurement Act, 2063' and has requested feedback from stakeholders. 

The office issued a public notice on Wednesday seeking opinions and suggestions on the draft for the purpose of sub-section (2) of section 6 of the Legislation Act, 2081.

According to the notice, experts related to the public procurement process, stakeholder bodies, and the general public must provide their opinions and suggestions within seven days from the date of publication of the notice. 

Suggestions can be sent to the office's email address [email protected]. The act is being amended to make the public procurement process more organized, transparent, and effective.
