Biratnagar Marks 30th Electrical Safety Day with Awareness Campaign

Biratnagar. On the occasion of the 30th Electrical Safety Day, an awareness program including a morning rally was held in Biratnagar. Jointly organized by the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Biratnagar Distribution Center and the Society of Electrical Engineers Nepal, the event conveyed the message, 'Stay alert to avoid electrical accidents, use electricity wisely for prosperity.'

Participants in the rally spread awareness about exercising caution in electricity usage and measures to minimize accidents. Speaking at the event, Electrical Engineer Subodh Thakur of the NEA Biratnagar Distribution Center emphasized that all parties, from consumers to technicians, must be responsible for mitigating electrical risks. "Even minor negligence can lead to major accidents, so everyone needs to focus on safe usage," he said.

Assistant Manager Madhav Prasad Nagarkoti gave a presentation on electrical safety, urging technicians to mandatorily use protective equipment during the operation and maintenance of devices. He also stressed that consumers must adopt proper methods for using electrical appliances.

Concluding the program, Center Chief Ram Udgar Shah stated that the use of skilled manpower is essential for developing a culture of safety. He highlighted the need for both employees involved in electrical services and consumers to work responsibly. It is believed that such awareness programs will be effective in reducing electrical accidents.
