Tikapur Municipality Urges Residents to Segregate Waste at Source

Kailali. Tikapur Municipality has urged residents to segregate waste before disposing of it from their homes. The municipality stated that separating waste at the source will significantly assist in effective waste management.

To achieve this, the municipality has launched awareness programs across neighborhoods, settlements, and market areas. "When all types of waste are mixed together, it not only creates challenges for management but also poses safety risks to sanitation workers," said Lok Bahadur Budha, Chief of the Municipality's Sanitation Branch. "To prevent this, we are conducting awareness programs in villages and neighborhoods to teach citizens how to classify their waste."

Sunita BK of Tikapur-2, Bijaynagar, stated that she will now begin segregating waste at home. Meanwhile, Aarti Thapa suggested that the municipality should improve waste collection management in various locations.
