South Indian filmmaker alleges script theft in 'Dhurandhar 2'

Mumbai. South Indian film writer, director, and producer Santosh Kumar has claimed that the script of the recently released film 'Dhurandhar 2' belongs to him. He has announced plans to pursue legal action, alleging that a story he wrote in 2023 has been adapted into the current film 'Dhurandhar 2'.

During a press conference, writer Santosh Kumar made serious allegations of script theft regarding 'Dhurandhar 2'. Speaking to the media, he stated that he only realized it was his hard work and story after watching the film.

He claims that he came to Mumbai in 2023 and pitched this story to major corporate houses such as Sony, Zee, T-Series, and Dharma Productions. 'I was told that if I wanted a big actor, I should bring a big corporate company,' he said.

According to Santosh Kumar, he wanted to cast actor Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead role and had sent the script to several directors. He mentioned that he registered his script with the Screenwriters Association in November 2023 and possesses evidence including photos, sketches, and registration documents.

'The film is well-made, but my work has been misused. My story was purely entertaining, but they turned it into political propaganda,' he complained.

Writer Santosh Kumar remarked that many writers from South India come to Mumbai, fail to find work, and often see their creations misused. He stated that he is now preparing to file a lawsuit against the production team.

Indian media reports indicate that no response has been received from the production team of 'Dhurandhar 2' regarding these allegations.
