Vehicle and Spare Parts Imports Surge Through Birgunj Customs

Parsa. Vehicles and spare parts worth Rs 23.57 billion have been imported through the Birgunj border point in the first seven months of the current fiscal year. Compared to the same period last fiscal year, the import value of vehicles and spare parts has increased by Rs 6.42 billion.

According to Udaya Singh Bista, Information Officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, there has been an increase in the import of vehicles and spare parts in the current fiscal year. The customs office has collected Rs 16.73 billion in revenue solely from the import of vehicles and spare parts in the first seven months of the current fiscal year. In contrast, during the same period last fiscal year, Rs 13.26 billion in revenue was collected from the import of vehicles and spare parts worth Rs 17.15 billion.

In the first seven months of the current fiscal year, 609 fuel-powered jeeps, cars, and vans worth Rs 1.1613 billion were imported, generating Rs 2.86 billion in revenue. During the same period last fiscal year, 748 fuel-powered jeeps, cars, and vans worth Rs 1.50 billion were imported, which generated Rs 3.73 billion in revenue.
