Health insurance program in all districts: Minister Yadav

Kathmandu – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health, Upendra Yadav, has said the health insurance programme would be reached to all districts, for which adequate budget was allocated.
Responding to the queries on the appropriation bill relating to his ministry at the national Assembly meeting today, Minister Yadav said the insurance programme currently in 23 districts would be extended to all 77 districts.
Government was bringing programmes in a planned manner for the effective management of human resources and smooth supply of medical equipments and medicines in the central, provincial and local levels, he said, adding that Public Service Commission was urged to immediately provide human resources for the Health Ministry, as it was facing severe crisis.
According to him, some of the health institutions were reconstructed for smooth functioning and services.
New land use policy in offing: Minister Khanal
Similarly, Minister for Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives, Chakrapani Khanal, said agriculture sector would be modernized with effective management and involving youths.
Responding to the queries relating to his ministry at the National Assembly meeting, Minister Khanal shared the information that government was planning to establish modern agriculture market in each province. The budget has given emphasis on production of cash crops.
He argued that efforts were on to make Nepal self-reliant on milk in two years. To discourage the trend of leaving arable land useless, the government is stressing commercial agricultural system.
The land use policy would incorporate the issues as cooperative and collective agricultural system, end of haphazard land plotting, management of industrial land. Even a high level land commission would be formed within a month to solve the problems of landless squatters, Minister Khanal stated.
Moreover, the Minister informed that Kalimati vegetable market would be made more systematic in two months. Action was initiated to end monopoly in market and rent.
A well planned strategy was in place for management of agriculture, livestock and land, he underscored.
Lawmakers Balram Prasad Baskota, Dhan Kumari Khatiwada, Rampreet Paswan, Komal Oli and Ram Chandra Rai had urged him for clarity on the budget allocation.
