Dengue Infections Rise in Makwanpur, Hetauda Hardest Hit

Makwanpur. Dengue infection is increasing in Makwanpur recently. According to the District Public Health Office Makwanpur, 212 infected individuals have been found in the first eight and a half months of the current fiscal year. Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City is the most affected by dengue.

Information Officer of the District Public Health Office Makwanpur, Laxman Ghimire, informed that 169 people in Hetauda, 17 in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality, nine each in Makwanpurgadhi and Manahari Rural Municipalities, three in Bakaiya Rural Municipality, and two each in Bagmati Rural Municipality and Kailash Rural Municipality have been infected.

According to him, one infected person has also been found in Makwanpur's Rakshirang Rural Municipality. Similarly, 48 people in Makwanpur are suffering from scrub typhus. Information Officer Ghimire stated that 26 of these are in Hetauda alone.

As the number of dengue and scrub typhus patients increases in the district, a campaign to search for and destroy mosquito larvae has been initiated.
