Home Minister Gurung Directs Nepal Police to Perform Duties Fearlessly Despite Limited Resources

Kathmandu. Home Minister Sudhan Gurung, during his inspection visit to the Nepal Police Headquarters on Monday, directed the present police personnel to perform their duties excellently despite limited resources and to carry out their responsibilities with even greater confidence in the coming days.

During the visit, Home Minister Gurung was welcomed by Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki, Additional Inspectors General of Police, Deputy Inspectors General of Police, and other senior police officials at the Nepal Police Headquarters. He offered a floral tribute at the Martyrs' Memorial located on the premises of the Nepal Police Headquarters.

During the inspection visit, Home Minister Gurung inspected the museum, digital forensic lab, Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics Cell, data center, and polygraph section at the Nepal Police Headquarters and gathered information about the related activities.

In the program organized after the inspection, Home Minister Gurung addressed the police officers and jawans present physically and virtually. He mentioned that despite limited resources, the Nepal Police has been performing the responsibilities assigned to it excellently and directed them to carry out their duties with even greater confidence in the future. He also stated that the police would not face interference from any level while performing their role.

Home Minister Gurung mentioned the need to change the way society views the police and stated that the distance between citizens and the police should be reduced, and citizens' problems should be addressed with polite speech, words, and behavior to provide excellent service delivery. He also emphasized that the police should further harmonize relations with the general public and utilize the available resources to the maximum for public service.

He mentioned that since the Nepal Police must play a leading role in disaster management, they will be equipped with more resources, and necessary contemporary training will also be arranged.

He stated that the career development of police personnel will be based on performance and a scientific system, and he is committed to making the organization stronger, modern, technology-friendly, and well-equipped in line with the times, keeping organizational strengthening as a special priority.
