Worker Found Dead at Taplejung Hydropower Project Site

Taplejung. A young man working at the Upper Tamor Hydro Company in Phaktanglung Rural Municipality-5, Taplejung, has been found dead.

The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Yamraj Limbu from Gairi village, Myanglung Municipality-1, Tehrathum, the District Police Office Taplejung reported. Limbu had left saying he was going home on Falgun 8 and had not been in contact since; a missing person report with a description was filed on Chaitra 1.

Based on that report, police found Limbu's decomposed body in the Methen stream in Phaktanglung Rural Municipality-2 on Sunday, informed Police Inspector and Information Officer of the District Police Office Taplejung, Jatashankar Yadav.

Police stated that the body was identified based on a tattoo on the deceased's left hand during the investigation at the scene. The body has been brought to the District Hospital Taplejung for post-mortem examination, and further investigation into the incident is underway, police added.
