Mayor Balen Shah Expands Cabinet After Taking Oath, Retains Three Ministries

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balen Shah has expanded his cabinet immediately after taking the oath of office and secrecy. Out of the current 22 ministries, Prime Minister Shah has retained 3 ministries for himself. The remaining 4 ministers have been assigned the responsibility of two ministries each.

Prime Minister Shah has kept the Prime Minister's Office along with the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies for himself. Shah has assigned Sunil Lamsal the responsibility of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Urban Development. Susmit Pokharel has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Pratibha Rawal has been assigned the responsibility of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation and the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration. Gita Chaudhary has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and the Ministry of Forest and Environment, and Nisha Mehta has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Health and Population and the Ministry of Water Supply.

The remaining ministers have been assigned the responsibility of one ministry each. Dr. Swarnim Wagle has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance, Sudan Gurung the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Shishir Khanal the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Birajbhakta Shrestha has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Khadak Paudel (Ganesh) the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and Dr. Bikram Timalsina the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

Sobita Gautam has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. Shah has assigned the Ministry of Labor and Employment to Deepak Sah and the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens to Sita Badi.
