Far-Western Province Sports Council Finally Gains Full Membership

Dhangadhi. The Far-Western Province Sports Council has finally achieved full membership after a long time since its formation.

Although the member secretary was appointed in the month of Jestha, other member positions remained vacant. The council has now taken its complete form after the provincial government recently appointed eight new members.

Lok Bahadur Khadka Ravi had already been appointed as the Member Secretary of the Council. The government has nominated personalities from the sports sector, ensuring representation from various districts, to the council, which had been awaiting members for a long time.

Those appointed as members of the Far-Western Province Sports Council include Gauri Hamal from Dadeldhura, Chetman Bikram Shah from Achham, Shyam Singh Simal from Darchula, and Pramod Malla from Kailali.

Likewise, Rupendra Bahadur Dhami from Doti, Nita Kumari Khatri from Achham, Navin Bahadur Singh from Bajhang, and Deepjung Shahi from Kailali have also been appointed as council members.

While having only a member secretary caused some inconvenience in policy and institutional work, it is believed that sports activities in the Far-West will gain momentum now that a full team has been secured. Newly appointed members are expected to play an active role in the development of sports infrastructure and the career advancement of players in the province.

With the council achieving full membership, the way is now open for provincial-level sports competitions and the implementation of sports policies.
