President Urges Elected Representatives to Unite for National Development Post-Election

Kathmandu. President Ramchandra Paudel has urged the elected representatives to embrace the responsibility entrusted by the people through the elections and work together for the nation's development and prosperity.

Addressing a special program organized by the Election Commission on Wednesday, he clarified that the great responsibility of fulfilling the people's desire for freedom, social justice, and good governance, expressed in the elections, now rests on the shoulders of the elected representatives.

President Paudel emphasized that while political views and votes may differ in a democracy, all Nepalis must have a single voice regarding the common goal of nation-building. He stated that there is no alternative to all sides uniting to raise the living standards of the people and make the country economically strong, as envisioned by the Federal Democratic Republic. He noted that the enthusiastic participation of Nepali citizens in the elections has reaffirmed their unwavering faith in the democratic system, further strengthening the system.

Praising the working style adopted by the Election Commission this time, the President stated that the implementation of the concept of a low-cost, transparent, and 'green election' is a positive aspect. He observed that the role played by the Commission in making the elections clean, impartial, and reliable has succeeded in garnering praise even at the international level. Discussing that elections are the backbone of democracy, he opined that the mandate has directed the country's future in the right direction.

The President thanked the government, the Election Commission, civil servants, and security personnel who worked day and night to conduct the House of Representatives elections peacefully amidst the country's complex and difficult situation. He highly appreciated the role of all citizens and concerned bodies who helped make the elections successful in thought, word, and deed, and stated that the journey ahead must now focus on prosperity.
