Film Producer Shivraj Karki Arrested in Kathmandu on Fraud Allegations

Kathmandu. Film producer Shivraj Karki has been arrested. The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested him on charges of fraud. Police stated that Karki was arrested on Tuesday from the Swayambhu area of Kathmandu.

Karki was arrested following a complaint alleging that he collected money from several individuals by promising to take them to the United States. Earlier, a complaint was filed in the last week of Kartik 081 against 'Tel Visa' producer and director Shankar Ghimire and his wife Richa Ghimire on charges of fraud for promising to take people to the US.

The film 'Tel Visa' was released on December 7, 081 (Bikram Sambat). The film depicted the story of the Nepali community residing in the United States.
