Victims' Families Protest at National Women Commission Demanding Justice for Violence Survivors

Kathmandu. Families of victims protested at the National Women Commission demanding justice for women affected by violence.

‘Ensure women's rights’, ‘End violence against women’, ‘Why is the Women's Commission silent?’, ‘Deliver justice to Inisha Bik and Reshmika Pariyar’, ‘Protect daughters and sisters’ were the slogans chanted by the victims' side on the premises of the Women's Commission.

The victims' families demanded a swift investigation into the rape and murder case of Inisha Bik from Surkhet and demanded that the culprits involved in the rape and murder case of Reshmika Pariyar from Khotang be punished according to the law. The victims' side drew the attention of the Women's Commission, stating that there has been no hearing for justice even after staging a sit-in protest for justice at Maitighar Mandala.

Khoktang Sewa Samaj expressed solidarity with the demands of the victims' side, informed Secretary Navaraj Roka. He stated that the victims should receive justice as soon as possible and the perpetrators should receive the strictest punishment.
