Nepali Congress Vice President Sharma to Chair Central Committee Meeting After Thapa's Resignation

Kathmandu. Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma will preside over the Nepali Congress Central Working Committee meeting scheduled for Friday at 1 PM, informed Acting Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Dulal.

‘Since President Gagan Thapa has resigned from his post, Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has been finalized to chair the meeting,’ Acting Chief Secretary Dulal told Ratopati. ‘The meeting will proceed in this manner according to the provisions of the statute.’

Dulal further informed that Vice President Sharma will present the resignation of President Thapa as a proposal for discussion in the meeting. Joint General Secretary Uday Shamsher Rana stated that the agenda set for the Central Working Committee meeting includes discussion on the party president's resignation and a preliminary review of the House of Representatives elections.

President Thapa had resigned to Vice President Sharma on Wednesday. That resignation has not yet been registered at the central office. Acting Chief Secretary Dulal informed that the resignation has not been registered and the Vice President will present it as a proposal in the Central Working Committee meeting.
