Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal Ceases Ministry Duties Following Election Report Submission

Kathmandu. Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal will no longer participate in the ministry's work. He announced that he would cease participation in the daily work of the ministry after submitting the election result report to President Ramchandra Paudel on Thursday.

Posting on social media, he stated that his cooling-off period has begun. He wrote, 'Cooling period begins from today, no more name-tagged trial balloon, please. The cooling period starts from today. Please do not spread speculative rumors by tagging names.'

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance, Tankaprasad Pandey, stated that only administrative decisions will be made in the ministry until a new minister arrives. He said, 'What the minister does is policy-making decisions; that will not happen now. The daily administrative decision-making process will not stop.'

The government is currently advancing the process of formulating the budget for the new fiscal year. According to Spokesperson Pandey, this process will also not face any obstruction.
