GCC Secretary-General and EU Special Envoy Discuss Serious Iranian Attacks in Gulf Region

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohammed Albudaiwi, and the European Union's (EU) Special Representative for the Gulf region, Luigi Di Maio, reportedly discussed the serious Iranian attacks in GCC countries.

It is reported that their discussion specifically focused on how the attacks pose a threat to regional and international security. Attention was drawn to the fact that the attacks directly endanger the safety and livelihood of civilians, leading to loss of life as well as material damage.

Albudaiwi stated the importance of maintaining freedom in the regional airspace, maritime lanes, and the Straits of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb to ensure the security of supply chains and the stability of the global energy market.

The EU Special Representative for the Gulf region also expressed the unity of EU member states with the GCC on his part. He strongly condemned the repeated Iranian attacks against the Gulf Cooperation Council states and the negative impact these attacks have on regional security and stability.
