Rastriya Swatantra Party Begins Consultations for New Cabinet Formation

Kathmandu. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which secured near two-thirds majority, has now started preparations for forming the cabinet. Sources indicate that discussions are underway, involving the creation of a roster of relevant candidates for ministerial positions.

According to sources, Sagar Dhakal's name is currently being discussed for the Minister of Energy, Water Resources, Irrigation, and Drinking Water.

There is a plan to merge the current Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation with the Ministry of Drinking Water. Names being discussed for this combined ministry include Dhakal, who was directly elected from Gulmi Constituency No. 1; Bodh Narayan Shrestha, elected from Dhading Constituency No. 2; and Ramji Yadav, elected from Saptari-2.

Dhakal has over 10 years of experience in the energy and water resources sector. He holds an MSc from Oxford University and is an engineer by profession.

Similarly, Ramji Yadav, elected from Saptari-2, also emerged into politics from an engineering background. Yadav holds a BE in Electrical Engineering. He is a commercially successful technician specializing in areas such as renewable energy, carbon credits, and public procurement reform.

Furthermore, Shrestha has extensive experience working in the social and development sectors for a long time. He possesses considerable professional experience in development, disaster management, and policy formulation.
