Rastriya Swatantra Party Finalizes Candidates for Education Minister Post Under Balen Shah's Leadership

Kathmandu. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which secured a nearly two-thirds majority mandate, is intensifying its homework regarding cabinet members. Three names are being discussed for the position of Education Minister in the government to be formed under the leadership of senior leader Balendra Shah (Balen).

According to sources close to Balen, the names under discussion include former Education Minister Mahabir Pun, Balen's former education advisor Sasmita Pokharel, and Kailali-5 lawmaker Anand Chand.  

If the RSP includes independent lawmaker Mahabir Pun in the government, they are preparing to give him the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. If he does not join the government, the possibilities lie with RSP's Sasmita Pokharel or Anand Chand, it is stated.  

Although Sasmita Pokharel is a law student, he claims to have worked on educational reform in Kathmandu Metropolitan City, while Anand Chand has expertise in the education sector. Chand worked as an associate professor at Patan Campus for more than 17 years.  

Balen is preparing to finalize the names of potential cabinet members after consulting with experts.
