Protest in Kathmandu Demands Justice for Surkhet Rape and Murder Victim Inisha Bika

Kathmandu. A demonstration was held in Kathmandu demanding strict action against the perpetrators involved in the rape and subsequent murder of Inisha Bika from Surkhet. The student and women's wing of the United Civil Party gathered at Maitighar Mandala on Tuesday to press for justice for Inisha. Participants in the protest demanded that the government control the increasing heinous crimes in society and ensure immediate justice for the victim's family.

Protesters carried placards with slogans such as 'Punish Inisha's Murderer,' 'End Rape,' 'Build a Safe Society,' and 'Enact Law for Death Penalty for Rapists.'

They warned that the state should not remain silent as incidents of violence against women and children have been increasing recently. They stated that the protest would not stop until the victim's family receives justice and the culprits face legal punishment.

The post-mortem report of Bika, who was found dead in a community forest in Birendranagar, Surkhet, revealed alarming facts. According to the report, she was raped, and her death was caused by excessive bleeding afterward.

The police have stated that they have intensified the search for suspects involved in this case and are conducting further investigations. However, the protesters have expressed apprehension that the investigation process might be weak and have vowed to continue applying pressure.
